Asia Rugby Sevens Series Korea 2018

Three teams unbeaten in Korea

29 September, 2018 in AR7s by Asia Rugby

Asia Rugby Sevens Series Korea 2018 , Japan, Hong Kong and China maintained 100% records at the end of an enthralling day of action in Korea.

With round two of the Asia Rugby Sevens Series well underway, all three sides will be aiming to claim the second Cup title of the series on day two.

Junkiu Liu scored twice in China’s 31-12 win over Malaysia, adding to his effort in their 12-7 win over the Philippines in the day’s opening match.

The current leaders in the series Asia beat Malaysia and the Philippines 35-5 and 43-0 respectively with captain Kameli Soejima scoring three on the day while runners-up on home soil Hong Kong beat Korea 15-12 and Sri Land 31-14.

In the penultimate match of the day Max Denmark scored Hong Kong’s fifth try after a fine chip through from Jamie Hood.

In the day’s final match hosts Korea bounced back from the narrow 15-12 defeat to Hong Kong with a 43-12 win over Chinese Taipei.

Having made 10 changes to the side that finished seventh in Hong Kong this was an improved performance from the hosts and their star man Jeong Min Jang repaid his coach with two sensational tries in the match adding to his earlier try against Hong Kong.

You can watch all of the matches on day two, including both finals, on Asia Rugby’s Facebook page.
