Bangladesh RFU become full member of Asia Rugby

Bangladesh Rugby Football UnionAsia Rugby EXCO and Council have approved and confirmed Bangladesh Rugby Football Union to become a full member of Asia Rugby.

Having been an associate member since 7 December 2014, they are now promoted to full member status and continue on their pathway to becoming a member of World Rugby.

“We are so delighted to be named a full member of Asia Rugby,” said Bangladesh Rugby Football Union’s Executive Member Tareque Khanmajlis.

“We have been anxiously anticipating this day for a long time and we really appreciate the support and the cooperation of all the members.

“We are trying to develop the sport in Bangladesh, we have colleges and schools all now involved, and all the newspapers are now giving us a lot of media attention.

“Our country is highly populated so the opportunity is huge. We hope that rugby will continue to grow.

“At the moment football and cricket are the top two sports but after that, we hope that rugby is going to have its place.”
