Sri Lanka Men’s Squad for Asian Rugby Seven’s

Sri Lanka have named a squad of 12 players for the Asia Sevens Series 1st leg 2019 to be held in South Korea on the 31st August and 1st September 2019.

Fixture and Result.>>>>>>> #ARM7s  Korea 7s

Danush Dayan who was named captain will lead the team for the 1st time. The squad includes some experienced players along with 4 debutants making their mark for the 1st time in national colours.

The new faces are Thilina Wijesinghe, Sachith Silva, Sudaraka Dikkumbura and Janidu Dilshan. Young Janidu Dilshan who represented Sri Lanka under 20’s will be a player to watch along with Thilina Wijesinghe who has been in tremendous form in recent times.

Sachith Silva and Sudarka Dikkumbura who have performed well in both 7’s and 15 a side formats recently have also been given the opportunity to shine at the highest level.

 

Experience hands Srinath Sooriyabandara, Jason Dissanayaka along with the returning Anuradha Herath from injury will play a pivotal role in the series.

Coach Matt Lee will be in charge along with Saliya Kumara and Mushtaq Jiffrey who are assisting him. Also on tour will be Rohan Chinthaka (Manager), Tharaka Vithanage (Physio), Dilan Soysa (S&C), Nalaka Weerakkody (Consulter) and Nishantha Chanaka (Selector).

The Sri Lanka 7’s Squad:

Danush Dayana (Captain), Srinath Sooriyabandara, Jason Dissanayaka, Thilina Wijesinghe, Reeza Raffaideen, Dinuk Amerasinghe, Janidu Dilshan, Anuradha Herath, Nishon Perera, Sachith Silva, Sudaraka Dikkumbura & Kevin Dixon.
