BREAKING NEWS: Asia Rugby President visit to Vietnam

BREAKING NEWS: Asia Rugby recently elected Asia Rugby President, Qais Al Dhalai in Hanoi Vietnam as part of his commitment to grow the game in all over Asia on only his 28th day in office.

Today he had a meeting with Vietnam National Olympic Committee Secretary-General Mr. Manh Van Tran and a fruitful discussion was held about the future of Rugby in Vietnam.

A fruitful discussion was held about Asia Rugby supporting the rugby community to establish a National Governing Body for rugby in Vietnam and help in the inclusion of  Rugby at the Sea East Asian Games 2021.

Mr. Qais Al Dhalai was very positive about his trip and commented  “I believe that today’s meeting with Mr Tran was a huge success and big step into unlocking various doors which will help flourish rugby  in Asia”

he further Added ” the establishing of Vietnam Rugby Federation and collate every effort for the  inclusion of Rugby in multi-sport event across Asia and in particular SEA Games 2021 and 2023”

The 2021 Southeast Asian Games commonly known as the 31st SEA Games, is scheduled to take place in Hanoi, Vietnam from 21 November to 2 December 2021. This is the second time that Vietnam will host the SEA Games the last time was in  2003.

Mr. Manh Van Tran commented on the meeting  “In the meeting yesterday we agreed the concept to develop the sport in Vietnam with the support and help from Asian Rugby Federation.”

He further added “Based in this Vietnam Olympic Committee (we Will) also will support to establish National Federation in the coming time.”
