Asia Rugby Announces Virtual Draw for the 19th Asian Games Rugby Sevens Event.

Continent’s Premier Rugby Tournament to Showcase Men’s and Women’s Teams in Highly Anticipated Draw Asia Rugby is pleased to announce a virtual draw for the Men’s and Women’s Rugby Sevens event at the forthcoming Asian Games. This significant draw is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 14:00 (+4 GMT UAE time).

Rugby enthusiasts and followers can witness the proceedings via a live stream on Asia Rugby’s official platforms – the Facebook page and YouTube Channel.

 

The Rugby Sevens event will feature participation from 12 men’s teams and 7 women’s teams. The Asian Games have been a historical platform for rugby, debuting in 1998 in Bangkok, Thailand.

19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 postponed

The initial editions featured both fifteen-a-side and rugby sevens formats from 2006 onwards, only rugby sevens were retained. In 2010, the women’s rugby sevens event was introduced

The 19th Asian Games Rugby Sevens event will take place on the 24-26 September at Hangzhou Normal University Cangqian Athletics Field. Situated 36 kilometres from the Athletes’ Village.
