Asia Rugby has welcomed Mr Mohamad Jarkou as the new Chairperson of the Development Committee. Succeeding the esteemed Mr Vela Tan, who headed the committee admirably since 2017, Mr Jarkou brings to the table a wealth of experience, including a distinguished track record in rugby development spanning 21 years.
A driving force in his union and the West Asia region for over two decades, Mohamad has been serving as the First Deputy of the Development Committee since 2019 and has amply demonstrated his dedication and capabilities.
His commitment to personal and professional growth is evident in his attainment of World Rugby certificates in Coaching (L2), Match Officiating (L2), and Strength & Conditioning (L1), and his participation in the Citing Commissioner course further underscores his comprehensive knowledge of various facets of the sport.
Asia Rugby is confident that Mr Mohamad Jarkou’s leadership will not only build upon the solid foundation laid by his predecessor but also bring innovative ideas and strategies to further enhance rugby development across the continent. His expertise, combined with a passion for the sport, positions him as a beacon for aspiring players, coaches, and officials.
As Chairperson of the Development Committee, Mr Jarkou’s leadership is poised to contribute to the continued growth and success of rugby in the region.
Asia Rugby extends its warmest congratulations to Mr Mohamad Jarkou, expressing gratitude for his willingness to take on this significant responsibility.
