Japan Set to Host Asia Rugby Emirates Women’s Championship in Fukuoka
The stage is set for the Asia Rugby Emirates Women’s Championship 2025, as the region’s top women’s teams prepare to clash at Japan Camp in Fukuoka, Japan. The much-anticipated tournament will see reigning champions Japan face off against Kazakhstan and Hong Kong China in a round-robin format, kicking off on 15 May 2025.
This championship is more than just a regional contest — it is a pivotal part of Japan’s preparations for the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 in England. Fresh off their commanding performance in last year’s championship, Japan enters the tournament with strong momentum and high expectations.

According to the latest World Rugby Rankings, Japan is currently placed 13th in the world, reflecting their growing stature in international women’s rugby. Hong Kong China, who continue to build depth and experience, are ranked 23rd, while Kazakhstan, known for its physical style and proud history in the competition, are ranked 63rd.
