Asia’s Journey to the Rugby World Cup 2027 Begins This June
The road to the Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 intensifies as the Asia Rugby Emirates Men’s Championship 2025 kicks off this June. This year’s edition is the most pivotal since 2014, when Japan’s triumph paved their path to RWC 2015 — a landmark moment that elevated the profile of rugby in Asia.
With Japan already qualified for RWC 2027, four ambitious national teams — United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Hong Kong China, and newly promoted Sri Lanka — are now just three matches away from securing the coveted Asia 1 spot at the global showpiece in Australia.
The tournament runner-up will also remain in the hunt, advancing to a high-stakes playoff against Africa 2 for a place in the Final Qualification Tournament, to be held 8–18 November 2025 at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai, UAE.
