Asia Rugby Emirates U20s Sevens Set to Make History in Bihar, India

Asia Rugby is proud to announce that the Asia Rugby Emirates U20s Sevens 2025 will take place in Rajgir, Bihar, from 9–10 August 2025, marking a significant milestone in the growth of youth rugby across South Asia

Following the resounding success of the RPL (Rugby Premier League), Rugby India steps up once again to host an international rugby event — this time shining a spotlight on the stars of tomorrow.

A total of 16 teams, 8 men’s and 8 women’s teams, will compete over two action-packed days in a round-robin format, with the top two teams in each pool advancing to the Cup semi-finals. The remaining teams will compete for the Plate, ensuring competitive rugby throughout the tournament.

“We are thrilled to bring this key age‑grade event to the City of Kings,” said Asia Rugby President Qais Al Dhalai. “Hosting the U20s Sevens in the State of Bihar is not only a celebration of youth rugby, but also a powerful testament to the sport’s growth and inclusivity across every corner of Asia.”

Participating Nations
The Asia Rugby Emirates U20s Sevens 2025 will feature national youth teams from across the continent, including China, Hong Kong China, India, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates, and Uzbekistan, all sending both men’s and women’s teams. Malaysia will compete in the men’s competition only, while Nepal will be represented in the women’s tournament.

This tournament will provide a vital platform for Asia’s rising rugby talents, with many players eyeing future opportunities in their senior national teams.
