Asia Rugby has taken another positive step towards strengthening the sport in Central Asia following a productive meeting in Dushanbe with senior Tajikistan sports leaders.
Asia Rugby President Qais Al Dhalai, accompanied by Nurlan Balbarakov, Regional Advisor to the President for Central Asia, and Kakhramon Djalilov, Secretary General of Uzbekistan Rugby, met with H.E. Zulfiqor Gulahmadzoda, Minister of Youth and Sport of Tajikistan and Vice President of the National Olympic Committee, along with Abdullozoda Muhammadsho, Secretary General of the NOC.

The discussions focused on establishing a solid foundation for the Tajikistan Rugby Federation and enhancing cooperation between Asia Rugby, the Ministry of Sport, and the NOC. Asia Rugby reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Tajikistan through technical training, education programmes, and targeted financial assistance.
This marks another encouraging milestone in Asia Rugby’s mission to expand the game across all of Asia, where recent successes of central regional teams are transforming it into a strong, emerging rugby region with a bright and promising future.
