Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka’s premier connectivity provider, has signed up to become the title sponsor for the ‘Dialog Asia Rugby Sevens Series 2021’.
Announcing the partnership Asia Rugby President Qais Al Dhalai said, “ I’m delighted that our objective as Asia Rugby is to partner with a reputable, efficient and profitable organization which we found Dialog super fit.
I’m proud that after nearly 7 years with no substantial partner today we celebrate this groundbreaking partnership agreement that will only be the beginning of a long term strategic partnership.”
Elaborating on the importance of both, the tournament, and this partnership, the Asia Rugby President added: “Asia Rugby Sevens Series is the pinnacle of the sevens game in Asia featuring the only top 8 men’s and 8 women’s teams taking the field.
I do look at this partnership as a solid foundation that Asia Rugby and Dialog Axiata will collectively be working to spread out the true Asian Rugby guiding principles of Equality, Transparency and Accountability.”
Moreover, “Asia Rugby and Dialog will focus on the coming few months to activate various programs that will have a positive impact amongst the under-privileged population across different territories in Asia aiming at embrace the slogan of Asia Rugby ‘We do better but TOGETHER’,” he concluded.
The Dialog Rugby Sevens Series 2021 doubles as the Asian Qualifier for Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022, which will be played in Cape Town, South Africa.
In a message from Sri Lanka, Honorable Namal Rajapaksa MP, Sri Lanka Minister of Youth and Sports, said: “I am indeed pleased that a Sri Lankan company has come forth as the title sponsor of a tournament of such a calibre as the Asia Rugby Sevens Series 2021.

Rugby fans across the globe will be able to tune in to Dialog Asia Rugby Sevens Series in real-time as Asia Rugby will live stream the entire tournament on its Facebook page and Youtube channel.
