UAE Rugby Federation, Following a World Rugby decision to reconstitute Gulf rugby the UAE Minister of Culture and Youth and Community Development and the Chairman of the Government of Youth and Sports decreed in 2009 the formation of the Board of Directors of the UAE Rugby Association. The organisation became fully operational in January 2011 and has since gained Full Membership status of the Asia Rugby and World Rugby
