Qazaqstan Rugby Federation

Kazakhstan Rugby Federation is the national Governing  body of rugby in Kazakhstan and is a member of Asia Rugby and World Rugby

Board member and head of the international relations of Kazakhstan rugby is Nurlan Balbarakov

Qazaqstan Rugby Federation

Rugby union was played in the Former USSR as early as in 1908. In 1934 the Moscow Championship was started, and in 1936 the first Soviet Championship took place.

Kazakhstan had its own rugby team in the USSR,

Post-independence

Kazakhstan is arguably the most successful ex-Soviet rugby nation aside from Georgia and Russia (who have both qualified for the Rugby World Cup). The women’s national rugby union team played their first international against Germany in 1993

The women’s team have played in the women’s rugby  World Cup 6 times with their First appearance in 1994 the best performance was their 9th place finish in 1998 Amsterdam, in the Netherlands with 16 teams competing
